Defining Insanity

by Tom Wise

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result."

Not true. That is the definition of stupidity.

Ignorance is not knowing due to lack of education or information. This person understands the mistake when informed. Actions deriving therefrom are to be excused... once.

Insanity is knowing but understanding in an irrational manner. This person never understands the mistake. Actions deriving therefrom are to be excused... always. However, steer clear. Caveat: Sometimes insanity is mistaken for genius and vice versa.

Stupidity is knowing but repeating the mistake. Actions deriving therefrom should never be excused (ignorance can only be claimed once). Steer clear! Corollary: Sometimes stupidity is mistaken for evil and VICE VERSA!!!
